Master Carpenter

Build Fire Island, LLC is a Design/Build firm specializing in high end residential construction in the beach resort community of Fire Island, NY.  We are seeking a Master Carpenter for our Fire Island based projects. To see some of the work we do, check us out on Instagram at @build_fireisland.

Responsibilities

Complete tasks according to priorities and plans;

Maintain safe and organized job site;

Fulfill general and daily responsibilities;

Assist in supervision and train workers and tradespeople;

Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met;

Basic maintenance of machinery and equipment;

Loading and unloading of material and equipment;

Report on progress to managers, clients, architects, engineers etc.

About You:

Must have strong carpentry skills with at least 5 years experience. Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints, be in good physical condition and stamina with the ability to lift 65 lbs or more. High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade.

Well Rounded Craftsman:Performs a variety of skills at various sites including:

Framing – Wood and Metal

· Drywall

· Wood decking construction

· Siding (Wood and Hardie prodcuts)

· Finish Carpentry

· Kitchen cabinet installation

· Tile work

· Flooring Installation

· Spackle and Taping

· General knowledge of Trades – (mechanical, electrical & plumbing, etc.)

Problem Solver: You solve one problem after the next in the pursuit of building something great. You love the challenge of tackling difficult situations and finding solutions to meet our clients needs..

Tools: You have your own tools and equipment.

Experience with coastal construction is a plus.

Compensation: Starting at $35/HR, based on experience
